Reclaiming Our Wisdom: Engaging with Our Emotions and Nervous Systems is a workshop mini-series from Elissa Sloan Perry and Alison Lin with hands-on practices, guided reflections, and learning resources designed to support liberatory leadership, collective care, and embodied choice. This series is part of a forthcoming organizational culture and development training series from Ananda Valenzuela, former Change Elemental Governance Team member (sign up for newsletter updates from Ananda to learn more about the full curriculum).
Reclaiming Our Wisdom invites us to reconnect with the intelligence of our bodies, emotions, and nervous systems—not as a form of self-improvement, but as a practice of liberation. Rather than adjusting ourselves to harmful systems, this offering centers inner work as a pathway to presence and transformation. The practices here support moving through intensity without abandoning ourselves or causing harm to others, while staying rooted in choice, dignity, and relationship.
This work is grounded in Neurosomatic Intelligence (NSI), the Four Emotions framework, and long-standing cultural and communal practices that honor multiple ways of knowing. We invite you to try them out!
This workshop mini-series guides us to:
- Be more in touch with the liberating practices of embracing our emotions and reclaiming our bodies.
- Learn ways to see more possibilities and create different ways forward by:
- Listening to, being with, and learning from the wisdom of our bodies and our emotions to be in choice and moving (or not) from presence
- Exploring and learning ways to engage with our nervous systems that allow us to act from a place of choice and resource
This offering includes:
- Three Recordings: A dive into how we understand our emotions and connecting to them as liberating practice as well as guided reflective practice around grounding our nervous systems in conflict and complexity.
- Handout: Reclaiming Our Wisdom: Engaging with Our Emotions and Nervous Systems
